I think that black people are mentally ill. I have lived with them for 40 years. I have studied them as well as myself and found many illnesses. If I mentioned all of our illnesses, I would have to talk for weeks, so I will just discuss a few large ones. One illness is a disorientation of time. Our bodies are African inside and out, yet we build our lives on the foundations explored during the time of Europe’s rise. In doing this we leave at least 35 dynasties of Kemet on the sideline to rot. To cure this illness, study ancient African traditions and try to incorporate them into your life. Do not allow modernity to slow you down. A second illness is retardation in terms of ethics. We are trapped in the Greek discussion over what is right and what is wrong, when our ancestors created complete codes of ethics. To cure this illness, find the 42 Principles of MA’AT and study the principles thoroughly. Another illness of black people is a craving for physical comfort. We do not want to suffer any discomfort of any kind, so we never challenge any one or any thing. We drift in the wind. Of course when the wind stops, black people fall and suffer more pain than everyone else. To cure this illness you just have to remember that your body can only live in one room at time. You can only wear one set of clothes at a time. Your body does not need high powered air conditioning or heating systems. A fourth illness is our fear of nature. We have no reason to be afraid of insects, birds, or any other creatures of nature. We have been living with respect toward nature for millenniums. To cure this illness go outside and watch an insect. Follow the insect as long as it does not put you into danger. Those are my thoughts on the matter.

Millions of New Yorkers ride the subways oblivious to the fact that people are living in NYC’s subway system. The others are too afraid to acknowledge the residents of sub city for fear that it will overwhelm their conscience. The two types of citizens in sub city are the riders and the tunnel dwellers. The riders stay on the trains throughout the day. They may even live right there on the trains, switching subway lines to avoid police harassment. The tunnel dwellers live in the tunnels on train lines no longer used or at stations no longer used. They also live in open space down in the subway system. While all of this is going on public housing units sit vacant. Don’t ask me why, ask our mayor.

Black Man's Fatigue

When I was a teenager I used to retreat to an apartment for weeks at a time. As an adult I have to retreat for months at a time. You see, I suffer from Black Man’s Fatigue. This is a condition of chronic weariness that causes the sufferer to need long periods of rest. I will now walk you through a day in my life to give you a view of Black Man’s Fatigue up close. The first thought that I have when I wake up in the morning is disappointment that I am still in a time and space of a system that fuels other people’s success at the expense of African people. My second thought is that I must figure out how to transcend systems, and even what passes for humanity these days, because to face the world in a bad mood could end up with me dead or incarcerated. When I face the world I do it as a wanderer from a people that have disintegrated into a state of savagery. This means that I have to prove my human value with every individual encounter. When I was in school I had to function at a high enough level to pass through institutions that trained me to maintain the system created to keep me enslaved. When I went to work I maintained that system. I have not worked in the system for 3 years, so at least I am free of the Soul suicide that America calls work. As I fellowship with friends and family I have to present to them the parts of myself that they can understand. At the end of each day I meditate with the hopes that I will be able to reach beyond the here and now and stay there.

The Unwated Ones

While I was in the womb the drama played out this way. My father gave my mother money to abort me. She thought about it, but was raised under morality, so she decided to keep both the money and me. My father saw her swollen womb later and told her that I was not his. Unfortunately this is not an unusual story, there are millions of us. We are the unwanted ones. We act out the fact that we are on our own in different ways. Some of us decide that we are less valuable because we were abandoned and resort to deviance. Others try to over-compensate by achieving great things to show the world that we are worthy of acceptance. A small number of us embrace the reality that we had nothing to do with our parent’s decision making. So the personal baggage is not ours to carry.

In the middle of a summer night the New York State Legislature passed a bill that gives same sex couples the right to marry. It did not teach me that the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered (LGBT) community are people, I knew that. It did not teach me that marriage is a social contract, not a moral one, I knew that. What the whole situation taught me is that if a community is willing to organize themselves around a set of principles, that community can force outsiders to accept their beliefs. It is such a simple and ancient process, but the LGBT community had to teach us again. The question is whether our respective communities will use this lesson to improve ourselves.

The United States Died in the 1960's

Every since the United States was put together the masses of the people have moved forward and backward, but always with a net gain. We always gained because of the quality of our leaders along with our willingness to follow. Then we had the terrible decade of the 1960’s. In the 1960’s we lost social titans that caused the masses to shut themselves down with drugs, alcohol, and meaningless tasks. In the 1960’s they killed Medgar Evers, John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. After those men were assassinated no one quite filled their shoes. It is kind of difficult to understand how killing four people can kill an entire empire, but the right people at the proper time can move empires up mountains or off of cliffs. Just imagine what the U. S. would be like today if some group had killed George Washington, Benjamin Banneker, Prince hall, and Thomas Jefferson. We may not even be living in a place called the United States. Now that the U. S. has been dead for forty years, it is time to turn the page. We have to create communities based on common understanding, which means that we have to build new institutions from the ground up philosophically. On the most general level, oracles are means of communicating with spirituality agencies. On the highest level, such communications take place with the wisdom faculty (sphere 2 Tehuti) of the spirit, through waking trance. This is the skill possessed by prophets and sages. On the second highest level, communications take place with the same part of the spirit through the casting of lots. These “lots” are symbolic representations of the basic categories into which the entire span of reality can be divided. The oracle or mentor is important to anyone trying to grow from one stage to another. It is also a difficult task to find a good mentor these days. Most of the people calling themselves leaders are so ordinary in their thinking. Of course we can turn to ancestors of greatness. Those of us in spiritually dead communities often have to do this. Today the attack on our souls is so sophisticated that just studying our ancestors is not enough. The Metu Neter Vol. 1 gives us the perfect solution, engage with principles themselves. It is perfect because it does not cost anything but time and space, and we all are already a part of time and space. It is the solution to all problems. If police are abusing you, communicate with justice. If a homeless person is smelling up your train or bus, communicate with empathy. If you are unemployed, communicate with creativity. If you are stuck in an unhappy situation, communicate with inquisitiveness. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Everyone is talking about the revolution in Egypt, but the Egyptians did not have a revolution, they had a rebellion. Their old president (Hosni Mubarak) was a military man who ruled for 30 years. He became too corrupt and ignored the masses of the Egyptians so much that they were suffering economic strife. So many of the unemployed educated people of Egypt protested and demanded that Mubarak leave his post. And who’s running Egypt now? The military. All the Egyptians did was replace one military man with another. The people are screaming democracy, but what they really want are jobs and less corruption, so if the new military man rules in a more fair way, he will reign for as many years as he is just. The people may try democracy until they find out that a democratic Egypt will leave them poor and at the bottom with the wealthy elite taking everything that they can just like in India, U.S. Mexico, etc.

It is easy to say that Albert Einstein is correct about something. Today we are over reliant on our five senses. We live to satisfy materialistic impulses. If people cannot see, hear, taste, touch, or smell a thing – they will not believe in it. I often hear 300 pound people claim that they are starving when it is impossible for anyone carrying around that much body fat and be starving at the same time. I have had many conversations with college graduates that believe they are smart because they have a piece of paper which says the person completed a program of study, yet these graduates have little to no knowledge of what they studied. I watch people’s eyes glaze over when I tell them that a dollar is only worth 30 cents on a good day. Nine out of ten people have no understanding of the concepts behind our physical world.

5 Kemetic Concepts

There are five Kemetic concepts that constitute the Ma’atic response to injustice and disorder in the world. Children should be produced out of love. They should not be produced from acts of simple lust, revenge sex, simple passion, force, or any other unnatural means. We should keep our children with us for longer periods of time at the beginning of their lives. We should drop them off any place else for anyone to watch them. If we cannot afford to watch over our children then we should not have them. If you have a child already it would be better to reduce your lifestyle than to leave your child to bond with others. If you have no other choice, make sure that you spend at least three hours per 24 hour period with just your child without distractions. All children should develop with children their age or close to it. When children are over exposed to adults they see and hear things that they cannot fully understand. When children are forced to spend time with children younger than themselves it can slow their maturation. Some of us cannot have children while other have a lot of children. All children belong to the community. We should help those who have many children, especially when we have no children at all. We should offer what ever resource we have.

The Devil of the Bible

In the same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said “The Lord rebuke you!” – Jude 1:8, 9

We are told that the devil is bad and YHWH is good. If you are a child you accept that simple answer, but as adults we begin to dig deeper. The Bible does not support the idea that the devil is bad at all. We are taught that the devil lied to the couple of Eden and caused the fall of humankind out of the grace of YHWH. Yet, the only one who did not suffer any consequences for the fall of humankind is the devil. Adam and Eve get thrown out of paradise, the serpent loses its legs, but the devil goes home to the realm of YHWH. When we look at the story with open eyes we see that the devil did not lie about YHWH not wanting Adam and Eve to know what YHWH knew. YHWH did not want them to know because they were not mature enough to handle the information. Adam and Eve show their lack of maturity by never questioning God or the devil like a Moses or Job. They never spar or struggle like Yeshua or Jacob. So in the end they failed the test of the greatest tester of all time, the devil.

Apocalypse Now

Apocalypse Now directed by Francis Ford Coppola reminds us to do the most important task, that is to take the long difficult journey inward. Capt. Willard cannot function outside of war, so he is sent into the heart of Vietnam to deal with a rogue Colonel named Kurtz. This mission takes Willard through many phases of the war where he discovers more about himself. In the end Willard answers the ultimate question, how is he going to be while on earth.

What if we all saw our lives as a journey to figure out what principles we are going to stand for in our lives. Our lives would be well spent. Too many people coast through life satisfied with their mediocrity. The great accomplishment of so many is to work at jobs that are killing them long enough to receive a pension. Once they reach the point of retirement, beaten down physically and mentally, the pensioners spend their time watching television and buying things. The Pensioners should watch Apocalypse Now while they are plopped down in front of their televisions, at least then they will be exercising their minds.

One scene in Apocalypse Now shows Willard at a bridge that the Vietnamese and American soldiers are fighting for. Willard finds these African – American soldier on the front lines. He asks them where is your commanding officer. One of the soldiers answers ain’t you our commanding officer.

This scene makes me wonder what is happening on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have been watching as well as listening to alternative media and according to them, the picture is not nice at all. On the bases corporations are over charging soldiers for services. On the battle field American soldiers do not know who is in charge of which village, town or province that sits away from their base of command. Sometimes American soldiers are guarding poppy fields used to make heroine that makes it back to their neighborhoods here in the states to destroy their neighbors. Bombs are every where. The child that our soldiers share candy with today could plant an explosive devise next week. Meanwhile we are no safer here in the states because the money spent on the war is draining our economy. This drain is causing enough stress that we are committing violent acts on each other for money, or a sense of security. I wonder why we keep allowing leaders to kill our family members for the sakes of their own egos.

Black Men Succeeding in America

Whoever he was, I never heard of his taking the least interest in me or providing in any way for my rearing. But I do not find especial fault with him. Booker T. Washington gives us all the blueprint for how an African man can succeed in the American system. He must forgive any person in power who wrongs him, his family, and/or his community. In the 21^st century the African man must perform more acts than forgiveness. He must: erase the bass from his voice, tighten his lips and the rest of his body to minimize African features, show hatred of African people or an indifference to their suffering. If an African man shows any of the attitudes mentioned or a combination of those attitudes, he will succeed in the current American system. You do not have to look to the most famous examples to see African men twisting themselves out of their minds, just look around you, these men are closer than you think.
