sugargliders

sugargliders

Sugargliders

I got to hold and pet sugargliders. Cami does not have wings so she can not fly. They eat white chocolate, fruit, apples, watermelon, and bugs.

I held them, and pet them, one of them climbed on the back of me and bit my ear.
I heard them and like my cat  they purr.

They can jump really high,  they are nocturnal, and they felt very soft

Grasslands

Animals  in grasslands are water buffalo, Tiger,  Harvest, mouse fox, and elephants.

Grass can grow up to half a meter per day, and flowers can blossom in just a couple of days.

Grasslands receive a lot of rain, sometimes up to 30 cm an hour. In the winter, they receive about 60 million tons of snow!

Water can hurt this biome because it makes it harder for lions to catch their prey with the 30 cm of rain they can receive in just a day. Image result for map of grassland biome

science experiment

Purpose/question: What makes a bigger eruption?

Researcatched youtube video, 124  grams of baking soda, 115.56 grams of vinegar (less used in video),  was not a big explosion

Hypothesis: More vinegar is needed for a larger eruption.

Experiment: In cup A we used more baking soda and less vinegar. In cup B we used an equal amount of baking soda and vinegar.  In cup C we used more vinegar and less baking soda.

Analysis:  After we conducted the experiment we found cup A reachhed  a  height  of 8 lines. In cup B we found that it reached 8 lines  as well. Cup C reached the highest height with 15 lines which filled the whole cup!

Conclusion  You need more vinegar than baking soda to get a  bigger eruption.

My History Project

  • Celts celebrated a festival called Samhain (pronounced “sah-win”), the end of the harvest (season) (Oct. 31st)
  • October 31st was Celts new year and was the one day (or magical time) when ghosts walked the earth
  • The Celts would make a big bonfire to make the ghosts go back to the spirit world
  • Halloween came to America in the 1840's with the Irish (increase is Irish immigration because of the potato famine
  • They shared bobbing for apples and playing tricks and shared that with America
  • Tricks turned into vandalism. To stop the vandalism, children were encouraged to go to the neighbors front door and ask for candy instead.
  • Masks were used to hide kid's faces for when they went to trick people
  • It's different from the day of the dead- Halloween has candy and people are fearful of the dead. Day of Dead celebrates the dead and welcomes the dead back into their home.

Claymation Brain Cell

We had a goal to do a claymation for the brain cell and the plan was to show a brain cell talking to another brain cell. We showed this by making a brain cell out of play-doh. For the model I made the   neurons. I took a photo with a camera to show the brain cells talking to each other.
